World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.

For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the item to which it is used (for instance 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

upgrade item  increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even if they are unsure what can be improved upon the reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a high possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes within a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.

In the endgame you'll find that the best way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and give an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

The use of the Glyph will boost all nodes that are linked to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage points, however, you may also want to consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the power of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different number of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets advanced in level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item it is replaced by a new item of the same kind. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a problem, as it can cause the item to become more expensive if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial however it shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the max roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The item upgrader allows players to increase the level of their equipment (armor weapons, weapons, and trinkets) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its initial state and the player having to spend additional materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance, attack damage, and all additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded increases its crit chance, the increase will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will need to carry every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs that are listed above.
